Ms Nirmala Ramlogan, assumed duty as the Deputy Permanent Secretary (ag.) at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development on July 1, 2020. Ms Ramlogan has spent her career motivating individuals, so as to inspire their development and in so doing promote the well-being of the nation. In this regard, Deputy Permanent Secretary (ag.) Ramlogan has spent most of her professional career in the Human Resources field, shaping and moulding those she has come into contact with.
Prior to her appointment as Deputy Permanent Secretary (ag.), Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Ms Ramlogan, was charged with the responsibilities of Director Human Resources and for a short period as Deputy Permanent Secretary (ag.) at the Ministry of National Security. Ms Ramlogan also held the responsibility of Director, Human Resource Services at the Ministry of Tourism. Through her career, Ms Ramlogan has also served in the Ministries of the Attorney General, Planning and Sustainable Development, Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development, Local Government, Housing and the Environment, and Trade and Industry. Ms Nirmala also served as a Teacher III in the earlier years of her career.
Ms Ramlogan, an avid nature enthusiast, is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, with substantial training in the fields of Human Resource Management and History.
Having previously worked at the Ministry of Housing from November 2010 to February 2012, as Human Resource Officer II/ acting Senior Human Resource Officer, Ms Ramlogan is unreservedly excited about serving in her new capacity.
