PM ROWLEY AND MINISTER DILLON CHANGE THE LIVES OF 82 FAMILIES
D’abadie was abuzz with excitement and pride yesterday morning, as 82 families received units at a housing distribution ceremony at HDC’s Trestrail Lands Housing Development. Sharing the joy with these families through remarks were the Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Keith Rowley, Housing and Urban Development Minister the Hon. Major General Edmund Dillon, Member of Parliament for Lopinot/ Bon Air West the Hon Cherrie-Ann Chrichlow-Cockburn.
In his review of the Housing Development Corporation’s work, Minister Dillon said, “Since September, 2015 the HDC has distributed over two thousand, six hundred (2,600) housing units. This would have been a combination of units from new developments, stalled projects as well as vandalized units that were refurbished. The HDC also turned sod on six (6) new housing developments in East and South Trinidad.”
Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Keith Rowley in the delivery of the feature address he asked recipients to acknowledge that they have received a substantial subsidy from the state, and challenged them to take care of their property and community.
Trestrail Lands which is located south of the Arima Old Road and east of La Resource Road in D’abadie, is expected to provide a total yield of 936 units, when completed. This development sits on 28.3 hectares of land and comprises of a mix of single family, townhouse and apartment units.
